Prospan Cough Syrup

Prospan Cough Syrup
Made from the extracts of Dry IVY Leaf Prospan Cough Syrup is a completely herbal cough medication with no added sugar and is alcohol free. Being Sugar free Prospan Cough Syrup can be used by diabetic patients and as it doesn’t have alcohol content children can use it alike.

My mother is a diabetic patient and she was coughing for some time and because of diabetes she couldn’t just take any cough medication. After consulting a physician (though Prospan Cough Syrup is an over the counter coughs medication) she was prescribed Prospan Cough Syrup to be used two times a day. Besides coughing she felt an irritation down her throat and thick mucus formation was also one of her problems.

She used Prospan Cough Syrup for about 2 weeks and from the very first day she felt the effect of the cough medication. With the very first use she felt relaxed and the throat irritation was gone. Previously she just couldn’t sleep whole night because of the continuous coughing but the use of Prospan Cough Syrup allowed her to sleep peacefully right from the first night.
Dosage
Normally 2 teaspoon of Prospan Cough Syrup is recommended for adults and children should take the cough medication according to their age.

Side effects of Prospan Cough Syrup

As mentioned earlier Prospan Cough Syrup is a completely herbal cough medication made of dry ivory leaf extracts and as such it has no side effects. Unlike other cough syrup, it doesn’t make you feel sleepy as it is alcohol free as well.
My mother used it for 2 weeks before she got complete relief from cough but the effects was visible right from the first use. It was two years back when my other first used Prospan Cough Syrup and since then we have been using Prospan Cough Syrup pretty regularly in our home as it is an over the counter cough medication which is easily available in any drug store.
We have teenagers in our joint family and fear of drug abuse is another reason for which I prefer using herbal and alcohol free cough medications like Prospan Cough Syrup. I have seen many youngsters abusing cough medication and I don’t want my family members to be one of them and for that reason Prospan Cough Syrup is the best cough medication with no side effects.

Prospan packing comes with an extra cup without any ml indication. Is very misleading. THe full cup is actually 15ml. Which I mistook it for 7.5ml means I have double over dose. Any advise on the side effects?

In New Zealand the cup that comes with Clinicians Prospan comes with the mls indicated on the side.
I would expect there would be little side effects noticed. Prospan does contain sorbitol so ingesting three to four times the recommended dose over a day or two may result in loose bowel motions.

I have been using Prospan for a year now.I have Asthma and it soothes, stops the "tickle" and eases my coughing.I'm a chronic pain sufferer,so Prospan is ideal as it doesn't interact with any of my other medications.Great stuff!!
