Ginger Health Benefits

Ginger Health Benefits

Ginger is in use in our kitchen since ancient times and besides adding that subtle flavor to the food it has many health benefits which I would like to elaborate in the article below. I am no expert regarding the subject but it is my small effort to share with you readers my personal experience with the natural herb.
Having tasted it since my early days, what I really enjoy about the herb is the flavor; it makes the food a bit spicy besides adding that antioxidant element to the food.

Here are some health benefits of ginger which I have experienced personally over the times.
1.       Relief from heartburn and acidity:  We Indian are used to hot and spicy food and that normally is the reason for heartburn and acidity. There are plenty of OTC medicines available but it is not always safe to use drugs for minor ailments. Here is when ginger steps in as a life savior , using a bit of raw ginger not only works as an appetizer but also helps relief from the painful symptoms of acidity and heartburn.

2.       Helps fight cold and cough: You may have often suffered from cold and cough and though being a minor ailment it can be pretty ugly as you just can’t catch proper sleep or concentrate on your work. The constant coughing takes the toll on the body and you simply just can’t rest or work. Well ginger doesn’t have a cure for the coughing but using a bit of it can reduce the frequency of the coughing. Just peal of the ginger skin and heat it a little in a gas or oven and keep it in your pocket and munch on it slowly as and when necessary. Doing this not just reduces the frequency of coughing but also helps relief from the symptoms of cold.

3.       Fights Motion sickness: If you have the habit of falling sick while travelling using a little bit of ginger just might help. Nausea can be combated by chewing a bit of ginger while travelling.

These are some of many health benefits of ginger  and the above mentioned ones are just common and can be used by anyone in their day to day life.
