Ceftum or  Cefuroxime Axetil Tablet is an antibiotic drug used mostly for treatment of various kind of bacterial infection. Ceftum Tablets comes in various strength such as Ceftum 125 Mg, Ceftum 250 mg and Ceftum 500 Mg which is prescribed according to the severity of the infection.

Minor infections such as sore throat or minor skin rashes are treated with Ceftum 125 Mg or Ceftum 250 mg and Ceftum 500mg is prescribed for treatment of major bacterial infection such as tonsillitis, respiratory tract infection, and pneumonia and so on.

Ceftum or Cefuroxime Axetil Tablet is a very strong antibiotic drub prescribed normally for a period of 7 days. Avoid using it for more than the prescribed period without prior doctor’s consultation. If the symptoms don’t improve stop using the drug and consult your doctor prior to further continuation of the drug.

Use the drug for the full prescribed period even if the symptom disappears within few days of usage. Stopping administration of the drug midway may allow re-growth of the infection and the bacteria may even develop immunity to the drug second time around.

Ceftum Side effects
Ceftum is a strong antibiotic drug and as such patient may feel sleepy and drowsy after administration of the drug, so avoid using Ceftum Tablets during peak working hours. Best time of administration of the drug would be just before bedtime.
Patients may develop skin rashes or other allergic reaction on administration of the drug. In case of any such reactions stop using it instantly and consult a doctor.

Precautions and warnings

·         Don’t administer Ceftum tablets on empty stomach. Take it after your meal for effective functioning of the antibiotic drug.
·         In case of pregnancy or lactation, use only after proper consultant with your gynecologist.
·         Inform your doctor  if you are suffering from any other disease such as diabetes, blood pressure,etc.
