The importance of advertising
Advertising has since ages been an important tool for business promotion. Advertising creates brand awareness or in common words makes the general mass aware of the availability of a particular product. If not for advertising consumers would never be able to known about the product and as such the whole business cycle would fail.

Let us take a simple example, Apple Iphone was recently launched in India and if not for proper advertising, people would never have known about it and thus the product would have failed.  So we can highlight the importance of advertising, without which no product can be successful.

Not just for successful launching of the product but advertisement is necessary to create brand consciousness as well. Constant advertisement makes the presence of the product constantly felt and therefore the consumers is always reminded about the product even if at times it slips out of his or her mind.

The importance of advertising lies in the fact that it is a vital arsenal for fighting cut throat competition. Not just doe it helps fight competition, proper advertising creates steady demand for a particular product. By promoting and mentioning the steady use of the product, it helps to upkeep demand all through the year.
Proper advertising builds up a brand name and goodwill of firms. It is all because of feasible advertising that Birla’s and Ambani’s have created a strong goodwill for their products. It is because of this goodwill that consumers maintain brand loyalty.

So far we have stated the importance of advertising to the business but the importance of advertising to the consumers and society also can’t be ignored.
